Biography
Dr. Wenxiu Ma is an Assistant Professor in the Statistics Department, and a Cooperative Faculty Member in the Computer Science and Engineering Department and the Genetics, Genomics and Bioinformatics Program at the University of California, Riverside. Dr. Ma obtained her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2012. Before joining UCR, Prof. Ma did her postdoctoral trainings at Stanford University and University of Washington. Dr. Ma's primary research interest is in developing computational algorithms and statistical methods to solve problems that stem from large-scale biological data generated by high-throughput sequencing technologies.
